Chandamama.com

Chandamama, which has behind it a sixty years history of story-telling, has relaunched its website Chandamama.com. At the new site readers would be able to enjoy comics and stories based on popular characters like Vikram-Vetal and Akbar-Birbal. Stories from Panchatantra and Jataka Tales will also be available on the site.Apart from comic stories, the website will have folk tales from different states of India, and will aim to be a source of infotainment for kids. The site content will also include stories based on Indian and world history, Indian achievers. There will also be a section dealing with stories on science, general knowledge and sports. Chandamama was launched in 1947 by B Nagi Reddi and Chakrapani to familiarise the post-independence generation with Indian tradition, folklore, mythology and history in the form of stories.
Chandamama was recently acquired by Mumbai-based technology firm Geodesic Information Systems, which has developed a universal instant messaging tool called Mundu that combines AIM, Google Talk, ICQ, MSN and Yahoo.
